Sunroom remodeling in Adelanto CA - an older sunroom you can use all year
Too hot in summer and too cold in winter? We add insulation, better glass and heating and cooling so it becomes a room you use every month.

Can my old sunroom be turned into a room I use all year?
Sunroom remodeling in Adelanto usually means turning a three-season room, one with glass walls but no insulation or heating and cooling, into an all-season room tied into your house with insulation, power and its own heating and cooling. At Glasscraft Adelanto Sunrooms & Patios, that's the remodel we're asked for most.
A lot of older sunrooms around here were built as three-season rooms, so they bake in summer and get cold enough in winter that the door stays shut half the year. The price mostly comes down to the room's size, how much work the base needs and how you want to heat and cool it, and insulation and better glass usually cost more to add to a room that's already standing than to build in from the start. The schedule turns on the same things, plus how long the glass takes to arrive once it's ordered, and I'll go through all of it with you when I come out.
What our sunroom remodeling work includes
Once we've agreed on the plan, our lead installer and crew start under the room, because new insulation and glass add weight and the base has to carry it. If the work means cutting into a slab, we check what's inside it first, since some slabs are post-tension slabs held together by steel cables under load, and one city's building handout warns that cutting one can be very dangerous and expensive to repair. From there we insulate the walls, floor and roof, swap the old glass for well-insulated windows, bring in power, tie the room into the house with heating and cooling, then finish the inside and clean up.
Not every room needs to be closed in all the way, and if you mostly want shade and fresh air without the bugs, screen room installation usually costs less and keeps the breeze coming through. If what you have is still a bare patio rather than an old sunroom, our patio-to-sunroom conversion work builds the room new, with the insulation and glass in from the start.
Why Adelanto homeowners call Glasscraft to remodel a sunroom
I measure, our crew builds
I come out myself to look at the room, measure and talk it through with you, and our own crew, led by a lead installer, does the building. We're based in Adelanto and take jobs in many of the cities around it, on both sides of the county line, so the person who planned your room is never far from it.
Choices settled before anything's ordered
Before I started this business in Adelanto in 2017, I ran the schedule for a busy building company and watched jobs stall because a choice got made too late. That's why heating, insulation, glass and the base get settled with you first, since changing them after the walls are up is harder and pricier for everyone.
Licensed and fully insured
Glasscraft Adelanto Sunrooms & Patios is licensed and fully insured. Ask about either at the estimate and I'll walk you through it before any work starts.
Roof work built for county wind
Sunroom roofs are designed to stand up to the wind loads local codes set, and San Bernardino County sets a minimum wind exposure for that design across the whole county. When a remodel touches your roof, we build to that setting, which matters out here where the wind comes hard across open ground.
What matters most on a remodel is knowing what the room sits on and what it needs before a single part is ordered. Send photos of the room, its windows and its base through our contact page, call (760) 523-8749 or email team@adelantosunroomspatios.com, and I'll set a time to come out.
Get a free on-site estimate for your sunroom remodel
Send the form with a few photos of the room, its windows and its base, and we'll reply within one business day to set a time for me to come out. I'll look, measure and talk the job through with you at your house, and there's no pressure to book.
Sunroom remodels and upgrades
Questions before you remodel a sunroom
How much does it cost to turn a three-season room into a four-season room in Adelanto?
Across the US, converting a three-season room into a four-season room usually costs about $3,000 to $20,000 per job, which is what the market charges, not a price of ours. Larger rooms that need foundation work and full heating and air conditioning sit toward the top of that range. Your own number comes from the free estimate at your house.
Who is allowed to remodel a sunroom in California?
In California, anyone who contracts for work worth $1000 or more in combined labor and materials has to hold a current license from the Contractors State License Board, so nearly any sunroom remodel calls for a licensed contractor. It's also worth asking which license they hold, because the board's awning license covers patio covers but not patio enclosures.
Can my existing sunroom base hold an all-season upgrade?
Often it can, but an existing base sometimes needs reinforcing to carry the extra weight of insulation, heavier glass and a solid roof. I can't tell for sure until I've seen what's under the room, so photos of the base help me come out ready to look at the right things.
Do I need new windows to use my sunroom all year?
Usually yes, because the glass in most three-season rooms isn't made to hold heat in or keep it out. Industry sunroom guidance treats a room that's heated or cooled and open to the house as a lived-in, conditioned room, and its windows and doors have to meet performance requirements for air leaks, water and heat, so we sort out the glass before anything is ordered.
How long does a sunroom remodel take?
It mostly turns on how much work the base needs and how long the glass and materials take to arrive once they're ordered. Because we settle the big choices with you up front, the build doesn't stall halfway while a decision gets made, and I'll give you a realistic picture at the estimate.
What is the best way to take care of a sunroom roof?
One sunroom maker's guide suggests looking over the roof and gutters once a year and staying off the roof unless you really need to be up there. If something looks off from the ground, call us at (760) 523-8749 and we'll talk it through.
